Justin Timberlake tries to resurrect past musical success in his sixth album 'Everything I Thought It Was' that proves less than satisfactory. The album introduce introspective tones at first then transitions effortlessly into club-based beats and sexually charged charms. Most of ‘Everything I Thought It Was’ sounds like Justin Timberlake's old recordings except for the distinct Afrobeats elements found in ‘Liar’. When combined with Calvin Harris and Timbaland the album gains momentum yet its extended length becomes too much to handle at certain points. Nostalgic harmonious moments between NSYNCkateerdeutsmuts and his old band members sparkle throughout the album yet the rest of the tracks remain enchained to familiar musical patterns.
